About the position

The Director of Communications & Community Engagement at Methodist Children's Hospital plays a vital role in promoting the hospital's mission and strategic vision. This position is part of the Marketing and Corporate Affairs team and is responsible for developing and executing communication and community engagement plans that align with the hospital's growth agenda. The Director will work closely with hospital leadership to enhance stakeholder engagement and manage both internal and external communications effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist CEO and other officers with communication needs including messaging related to colleague engagement.
• Support development and implementation of the strategic PR and Communications plan to meet organizational needs and support hospital business and growth goals.
• Proactively develop content to drive engagement across owned, earned and paid media channels.
• Pitch compelling stories to local media outlets.
• Manage crisis communications and serve as an on-call public information representative.
• Monitor patient comments and reviews about the hospital and its physicians for timely responses.
• Drive engagement programs and activities to enhance the hospital's reputation within the community.
• Support strategy for the hospital's Board of Trustees regarding composition and engagement.
• Identify meaningful healthcare-related community engagement activities in the hospital's service area.
• Coordinate events and programs to raise awareness of the hospital's capabilities and strengths.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• 1+ year(s) of experience in a management role
• 5 years of experience in a related position
