About the position

Global Holdings is seeking a highly motivated Head of Compliance & Risk to lead our risk and compliance teams. This pivotal role will report directly to the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer and will be integral to the ongoing growth and success of the business. The selected leader will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day compliance efforts, expanding our existing cyber and physical security structures, and engaging with third-party auditors and state and federal regulators to conduct regularly scheduled audits. Global Holdings prides itself on a strong culture of compliance and is looking for a leader who can maintain and build upon that culture while instilling a sense of urgency in the work that we do. The Head of Compliance & Risk will oversee Global Holdings' regulatory policies, processes, and procedures, which include but are not limited to BSA-AML, KYC, Compliance Management System (CMS), GLBA/IT, and OFAC. This role will also manage compliance-related external audits and limited internal audit functions, collaborating closely with the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to communicate with regulators, bank partners, and others about compliance processes and audit results. The leader will lead efforts to enhance and expand fraud and risk management tools and controls, partner with IT to enhance cyber risk protections across the enterprise, and develop improved physical security and risk reduction strategies, policies, and procedures. In addition, the Head of Compliance & Risk will manage an experienced team through periods of change, enhance current processes and procedures to improve efficiency, and build on a strong culture of compliance while bringing a great sense of urgency to the work of the team. This position is a key leadership role within the company, working with the executive team, product, engineering, and legal departments to ensure that new product development continues to support compliance efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing Global Holdings' day-to-day regulatory policies, processes and procedures, including BSA-AML, KYC, Compliance Management System (CMS), GLBA/IT, and OFAC.
  • Managing compliance related external audits and limited internal audit functions.
  • Collaborating with CAO to communicate with regulators, bank partners and others about compliance processes and audit results.
  • Leading efforts to enhance and expand fraud and risk management tools and controls.
  • Partnering with IT to enhance cyber risk protections across the enterprise.
  • Developing improved physical security and risk reduction strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Managing an experienced team through periods of change.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience managing compliance and risk management teams in the financial services industry, preferably with a bank, fintech, debt settlement or money services business.
  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory landscape, particularly BSA/AML, GLBA, UDAAP, TSR and other relevant regulations.
  • Proven ability to work with auditors and assist in successful audits, particularly GLBA, SOC 1 (Type 2), BSA/AML audits.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage distributed teams and successfully achieve objectives.
  • Strong written, oral, and analytical skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with different departments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, relationship management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple commitments and lead multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Flexibility in adapting to changes in strategic direction and/or priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Compliance-related certifications (CRCM or similar) preferred but not required.
