About the position

As the Director of Governance for the Credit & Fraud Risk (CFR) Control Management Governance Change Management & Communications team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the operational risk and controls strategy for CFR. This position requires a strategic leader who can establish a foundational governance structure that ensures operational risks are identified, assessed, and managed in compliance with enterprise Operational Risk Management programs. You will lead a diverse team of high-performing professionals, ensuring that control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. Your responsibilities will include facilitating the understanding and use of the risk governance framework across business units through regular communication and training initiatives. You will develop comprehensive training programs that align with Operational Risk Management and establish processes to monitor the integration of regulatory changes into the Operational Risk framework. Additionally, you will be a key leader in sharing insights and best practices across the enterprise, ensuring that our teams are equipped to manage risks effectively. This role requires extensive collaboration with multiple partners across various business units, functional areas, and geographies. You will be expected to interact with senior business and technology counterparts, obtaining buy-in for initiatives and ensuring alignment with policies and regulatory frameworks. Your expertise in process governance and operational risk management will be critical in driving the success of our risk strategies and promoting business growth while delivering superior customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse team focused on ensuring control management is embedded in daily operations.
  • Facilitate understanding and use of the risk governance framework across business units through regular communication.
  • Develop and administer comprehensive training initiatives aligned with Operational Risk Management.
  • Establish processes to monitor the integration of regulatory changes into the Operational Risk framework.
  • Share insights and best practices across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • 6 years of experience in operational risk management, preferably within Risk and/or Internal Audit functions.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in process governance with a track record of establishing robust decision-making processes.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience in translating operational risk strategy into execution guidelines.
  • Experience in tracking and identifying issues with Key Risk Indicator (KRI) limits.
  • Experience in implementing operational risk governance frameworks.
