About the position

The Director of Creative Asset Management at Starcom plays a pivotal role in facilitating the creative development and production process for digital ad campaigns. This position requires a professional with a mastery of interpersonal skills, project management life cycles, and acute attention to detail, particularly in a fast-paced agency environment. The Director will be responsible for managing multiple complex campaigns and lines of business, ensuring timely and accurate execution of projects. This includes overseeing the development of creative video and custom program development from concept to launch, managing production timelines, and ensuring that all digital display, video, and other creative assets are routed efficiently between clients, internal teams, creative agencies, and media partners. In this role, the Director will strategize and partner with agency teams to establish baseline project plans for all deliverables, utilizing project management best practices and tools. They will also manage the internal creative traffic process from ideation to launch, ensuring that all advertising campaigns are executed smoothly. Quality control is a significant aspect of this position, as the Director will oversee the process to ensure that all internal and external assets meet specifications and uphold quality standards. Additionally, the Director will provide leadership, motivation, mentoring, and training for the project management team, while also managing and directing outside partners such as specialized agencies, illustrators, photographers, and graphic designers. The Director will be expected to analyze and prioritize multiple activities and project needs, establishing attainable deadlines while resolving project issues and escalating challenges as necessary. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as the Director will need to communicate effectively across disciplines with colleagues, clients, and partners at all levels. This position is integral to the success of Starcom's creative initiatives and requires a strong understanding of the advertising industry and various media types.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple complex campaigns and lines of businesses.
  • Execute and oversee the development of creative video/custom program development from concept to launch, including production timelines and technical specifications.
  • Route digital display, video, and other creative assets between the client, internal teams, creative agencies, and media partners.
  • Oversee the internal creative traffic process from ideation to launch for all digital/advertising campaigns.
  • Strategize and partner with agency teams to establish baseline project plans for all agency deliverables using project management best practices and tools.
  • Manage and oversee the Quality Control process to ensure all assets meet specifications and uphold quality standards.
  • Develop reports/documentation to keep clients and agency informed on projects/campaigns, deliverable progress, and issue tracking.
  • Analyze and prioritize multiple activities and project needs while establishing attainable deadlines.
  • Resolve project issues and escalate challenges and risks as needed to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage and ensure efficient workflows within the department.
  • Effectively assign, delegate, coordinate, and monitor all PM team members' activities and projects to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Provide leadership, motivation, mentoring, and training for the project management team.
  • Manage and direct outside partners as needed, including specialized agencies, illustrators, photographers, and graphic designers.
  • Partner with Media Buyers to provide creative insights and advise on creative feasibility when evaluating new media opportunities/projects.

Requirements

  • 5 years of agency and strong project management experience.
  • Experience with agencies that have a heavy production environment (digital, experiential, social, video, photography) is a plus.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and management skills.
  • Advanced understanding of the advertising industry and multiple media types (digital, video, social, print, cinema, ooh, etc.).
  • Knowledge of marketing and agency-related technologies and trends.
  • Excellent verbal ability and personal diplomacy.
  • Strong knowledge of digital media creative specs, IAB standards, and related concepts.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across disciplines with colleagues, clients, and partners at all levels.
  • Basic knowledge of Google Campaign Manager or Studio is a plus.
