About the position

The Creative Strategy and Integration team is a vital part of the Visual Storytelling division within ESPN Creative Studio, tasked with shaping the strategic creative vision and execution plan for the studio's diverse portfolio of work. This team is at the forefront of creating and optimizing innovative workflows that span across digital, streaming, broadcast, and marketing channels. The Director of Creative Strategy and Integration plays a crucial strategic and managerial role, focusing on the integration of data, analytics, creative research, and streaming priorities. This position is responsible for overseeing user experience (UX) research for Visual Storytelling and collaborates closely with Disney Streaming and other integration partners to ensure cohesive and effective strategies. In this role, the Director will fully own all UX research initiatives related to marketing, linear, digital, and web/app platforms, regularly presenting findings to stakeholders. Participation in performance report-outs within the marketing space is essential to deeply understand performance metrics and identify opportunities for case studies and discovery. The Director will lead cultural change within the organization, fostering optimism and collaboration across teams to set priorities and drive results. Additionally, this role involves working closely with Disney partners to ensure that artwork is optimized for various platforms and content, as well as managing relationships with external design production vendors, including onboarding, invoicing, and overseeing day-to-day projects.

Responsibilities

  • Fully own all UX research initiatives for marketing, linear, digital, and web/app and present findings on a regular basis.
  • Participate in performance report-outs in the marketing space to deeply understand performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities for case studies and discovery and bring Visual Storytelling teams together to discuss process and findings.
  • Lead cultural change with optimism and work across teams to set priorities and drive results.
  • Collaborate closely with Disney partners to ensure artwork is optimized for various platforms and content.
  • Manage relationships with external design production vendors, including supporting onboarding, invoicing, and day-to-day projects.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with user research, running tests, gathering and presenting data.
  • 10 years experience in digital media, including at least 4 years in people management.
  • Ability to analyze and make strategic recommendations based on a variety of analytics and constantly evolving priorities.
  • Very comfortable running large-scale meetings, creating and giving presentations.
  • Adapts easily to change and is an example for the rest of the team.
  • Experience working with production vendors, including DCO.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated ability to present and discuss metrics and discovery in a digestible and accessible way.
  • Experience in digital marketing, particularly setting campaign priorities.
  • Understanding of performance metrics and creative research.
  • Deep experience with a variety of project management and analytics tools.
