About the position

The Director of Creative Studio at Aflac is responsible for leading the creative and strategic growth of the company's marketing efforts. This role involves managing internal agency operations, developing client relationships, and overseeing the production of marketing materials. The director will work closely with various business units to ensure alignment with Aflac's strategic goals while fostering a culture of creativity and innovation within the agency.

Responsibilities

  • Build and establish strong relationships with senior internal business unit leaders and collaborate across various internal groups and external vendors.
  • Interpret clients' business strategy into communication and advertising strategies; present creative solutions to meet clients' business objectives.
  • Promote strategically sound expansion of business with existing internal clients and influence stakeholders to think creatively and strategically.
  • Guide Aflac's creative and strategic growth, inspire internal agency culture, manage key internal client relationships, and oversee business operations and agency profitability.
  • Manage agency disciplines including business development, client strategy, account services, creative, production, social content, and editorial staff.
  • Attract and retain top agency talent; ensure responsibilities and accountability of all direct reports are defined and understood.
  • Recommend and manage changes as required by the development and growth of the business.
  • Act as an ambassador to increase Aflac's brand awareness through participation in industry associations and community organizations.
  • Manage graphic design, copy writing, and social content studio functions; provide leadership in operations while maintaining focus on strategic goals.
  • Define, develop, and maintain reporting to measure performance, customer satisfaction, cycle times, and project cost savings; report metrics to senior leadership.
  • Manage all internal projects including critical branding and marketing projects; participate in the development of new project proposals and time/cost estimates.
  • Develop and manage overhead budget, overseeing tracking and assessment of cost savings by leveraging internal teams.
  • Oversee planning and development of company marketing and communications materials and the preparation of sales materials, exhibits, and promotional programs.
  • Represent the organization at community and business meetings to promote the company and foster positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.
  • Work with department managers to develop long-term business plans and establish departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Identify and manage technology and publishing platforms needed for operational excellence.
  • Develop a social content studio including an editorial department to create content for sales and marketing to drive digital engagement.
  • Ensure event production and multimedia teams provide a best-in-class experience to internal business partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field.
  • 10 years of professional job-related work experience, with 5 years in management.
  • Marketing and advertising experience, including agency experience.
  • Experience working across various business units, including B2B, product, and recruiting.
  • Strong industry knowledge relative to markets, products, and competition.
  • Extensive knowledge of operating principles and methodology applicable to marketing and sales.
  • Understanding of business drivers and their relationship to Aflac products and services.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and expense control to maximize expenditure while maintaining quality standards.
  • Strong track record of developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Strong coaching and leadership skills.
  • Strong personal computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office.
