About the position

The Director of Credit Bureau Reporting plays a crucial role in this mission by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of monthly credit bureau files and responding to daily credit bureau inquiries. This position is responsible for analyzing the monthly Credit Reporting file and developing, implementing, and adhering to best practices and processes to minimize risk and potential loss. The Director will lead and guide the daily activities of the credit bureau reporting teams, establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with Compliance and Audit departments. The Director will establish goals and performance objectives while driving process improvements within the organization. A key focus will be on improving customer satisfaction and process quality by monitoring performance and providing constructive feedback. The role also involves providing training and development support for managers in performance management and coaching their associates. Ensuring adherence to established operational methods, procedures, service standards, and applicable state and federal laws is essential. The Director will address human resources issues, such as attendance and interpersonal conflicts, and will be involved in the recruitment process for customer service representatives. Additionally, the Director will create system and process enhancements, prepare performance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends, and actively participate in projects, including providing requirements and UAT testing. This position is integral to building the brand through accurate credit bureau reporting and driving results that align with the company’s vision of being a premier finance company known for its People, Performance, and Service.

Responsibilities

  • Build brand through accurate credit bureau reporting.
  • Lead, direct, and guide daily activities of the credit bureau reporting teams.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with Compliance and Audit.
  • Establish goals and performance objectives, and implement process improvements.
  • Drive for results and improve customer satisfaction and process quality.
  • Provide training and development support for managers in performance management.
  • Ensure adherence to established operational methods, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Address human resources issues such as attendance and interpersonal conflicts.
  • Interview and hire managers and participate in the recruiting process.
  • Create system and process enhancements.
  • Prepare performance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Actively participate in projects including providing requirements and UAT testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Eight (8) years direct job-related experience, including a minimum of three (3) years management experience.
  • Previous credit bureau reporting experience.
  • Excellent leadership skills in directing a team with measurable performance.
  • Extensive experience interfacing with all levels of peers/coworkers.
  • Strong communication skills, including developing and delivering presentations to senior management.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing, aligning, and implementing strategies with objectives and functions.
  • Proven leader with a strong track record of success as a business partner, mentor, manager, and team builder.
  • Superior problem solving, analytical, process improvement, project management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulatory compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
