About the position

The Director of Customer Logistics at Norfolk Southern Corp. is responsible for leading the Customer Logistics team to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. This role focuses on strategic goal setting, proactive customer engagement, and collaboration across various departments to enhance productivity and support commercial strategies. The position emphasizes the importance of aligning team efforts with organizational goals and driving performance through key performance indicators.

Responsibilities

  • Directs subordinate managers to prioritize tasks efficiently to meet customer demand.
  • Guides managers in resolving customer inquiries and demands using expert knowledge of customer needs.
  • Develops and drives performance metrics to ensure quality customer service is provided.
  • Ensures alignment with processes and quality standards across the team.
  • Participates in industry conferences to implement leading practices for customer engagement.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in customer logistics or a related field.
  • Preferred experience of 11-15 years in a similar role.
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS, MBA) is preferred.
  • Understanding of systems used by Marketing and Customer Logistics departments.
  • Knowledge of customer logistics support systems and customer channel strategies.
