About the position

The Director of Data and Analytics Architecture will serve as a strategic leader within the Central Data and Analytics (CDNA) function, acting as the primary point of contact for assigned business units. This role focuses on providing innovative data and analytics solutions, ensuring alignment between business strategies and architectural frameworks, and promoting CDNA's capabilities and products. The position requires a strong emphasis on customer engagement, collaboration with technology teams, and the ability to drive architectural strategies that enhance data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the single point of contact for data and analytics architecture and strategy for assigned business units.
  • Socialize and promote CDNA capabilities and products to the customer base, articulating current strategy and best usage patterns.
  • Understand assigned business unit's business strategy and ensure alignment with enterprise strategies.
  • Establish and sustain strong partnerships with divisional architects and analytics teams.
  • Collect product feedback and identify capability gaps to inform product development.
  • Work with technology and service partners to align their products with the company's needs.
  • Design and implement architectural solutions for commercial business units.
  • Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities for new capabilities or products.
  • Lead the development of data and analytics architecture principles and roadmaps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 8 years of experience in software/data engineering and architecture.
  • Strong product and customer centricity with a focus on business value realization.
  • Excellent business relationship management and collaboration skills.
  • Superior architectural skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Expert knowledge of AWS or Azure cloud ecosystems from an analytics standpoint.
  • Understanding of self-serve product-centric data analytics principles and AI/ML on scale.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in developing enterprise architectures, models, and roadmaps.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of experience in leading data and analytics architecture initiatives.
  • 2 years of experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences segment.
