About the position

Worldly is seeking a highly skilled Director of Data Analytics and Insights to join our Sustainability team. This role is crucial as it combines leadership with hands-on contributions to data analytics, sustainability science, and customer-facing insights. The Director will be responsible for developing and leading the implementation of a comprehensive data analytics strategy that aligns with the work of our product team. This strategy must meet the needs of both our customers and internal teams, requiring close collaboration with Product, Marketing, and Growth teams. In this leadership position, the Director will build and mentor a high-performing data analytics team, which will include a nascent AI function. The role involves designing and implementing advanced models, techniques, and visualizations to extract insights from various data sources. The Director will also be tasked with finding, assessing, integrating, and managing both internal and new external data sources to generate new insights while ensuring data integrity, quality, privacy, and security. Effective communication of insights to both technical and non-technical audiences is essential, as is the ability to work with Product Management to formulate and implement an AI strategy for our data and methodologies. This includes establishing an AI policy that outlines appropriate use cases and limitations. The ideal candidate will have a proven leadership track record in data analytics and business intelligence, with strong skills in data manipulation, statistics, programming, and visualization tools, as well as experience with corporate sustainability data and climate datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the implementation of a comprehensive data analytics strategy that aligns with the product team's work.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing data analytics team, including an AI function.
  • Design and implement advanced models, techniques, and visualizations to extract insights from data sources.
  • Find, assess, integrate, and manage internal and external data sources to generate new insights while ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical audiences through reporting and consultative support.
  • Work with Product Management to formulate and implement an AI strategy and establish guidelines for appropriate use cases.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of data analytics/BI experience with a proven leadership track record.
  • Strong skills in data manipulation, statistics, programming, visualization tools, and NLP.
  • Experience with corporate sustainability data and/or climate datasets is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical abilities to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Outstanding communication skills to convey technical concepts across diverse audiences.
  • Solid project management expertise to oversee priorities and ensure compliance.
  • Ability to engage with executives and perform as both an individual contributor and team leader.
