About the position

The Director of Data Design and Architecture at Advantage Solutions will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's data governance strategy. This position is responsible for leading the cross-functional Data Governance council, focusing on the definition and activation of data quality and catalog capabilities. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of a comprehensive approach to data governance that ensures a single, high-quality version of the truth across all functional areas of data. This role is crucial in centralizing the approach to data governance, enhancing data quality, and establishing data cataloging capabilities that promote consistency and reuse of business rules. By doing so, the Director will enable speed and scalability across all areas of Data & Analytics, ultimately supporting the enterprise data foundation for all data products offered by Advantage Solutions. In this role, the Director will execute a data-centric delivery model that is designed to be efficient and effective, ensuring that data governance and quality initiatives are built once and serve multiple purposes. The position requires a deep understanding of data quality and cataloging, as well as the ability to interconnect these capabilities with critical points of data ingestion, curation, governance, and commercialization. The Director will partner with various teams to ensure alignment of deliverables with the overall success of the program, providing ongoing support and ensuring the success of all initiatives related to data governance and quality. Additionally, the Director will have supervisory responsibilities, including hiring, training, coaching, and developing direct reports. This role will also involve mentoring indirect reports and providing guidance to ensure that all team members are aligned with the company's data governance objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data quality and governance, with hands-on experience in defining and delivering data catalog capabilities and establishing data governance councils.

Responsibilities

• Executing a comprehensive cross-functional data-centric delivery in Governance and Data quality that is 'built once, serves many' in nature.
• Delivering depth of competency and data capability in Data Quality & Data Cataloguing that interconnects with critical points of Data ingestion, curation, governance, analytical data hierarchies, data quality, and data commercialization & democratization.
• Partnering within and across teams to ensure alignment of deliverables to overall program success.
• Ensuring ongoing support and success of all deliverables.
• Hiring, retaining, training, coaching, guiding, directing, and developing direct reports using company-wide processes, tools, and resources.
• Delegating work of others and providing guidance, direction, and mentoring to indirect reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of experience in data governance and quality management.
• Depth of proactive and reactive data quality experience with approaches and delivery.
• Hands-on experience in defining and delivering Data Catalog capabilities.
• Hands-on delivery experience in defining and landing Data governance councils.
