About the position

The Director of Data Governance will lead the development and execution of the enterprise data governance strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with Molina Healthcare's vision. This role is part of the Enterprise Information Management (EIM) organization and focuses on managing cross-functional teams to implement data governance best practices, standards, and policies, particularly in the healthcare sector.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute the enterprise data governance strategy and roadmap.
  • Manage and lead cross-functional teams throughout large-scale transformation initiatives related to data governance.
  • Define and execute the data governance organization's target operating model in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Design and implement data organization governance structures, including steering committees and data councils.
  • Identify roles such as data owners and stewards, and define their responsibilities.
  • Establish enterprise data governance standards, guidelines, and policies.
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and support of data governance solutions.
  • Engage vendors and drive data governance tool selection initiatives as needed.
  • Establish data governance metrics and KPIs; communicate the business value of data governance to stakeholders.
  • Build support across business and IT organizations; serve as a liaison to other disciplines and programs.
  • Collaborate with departments to address data quality issues and ensure adherence to governance standards.
  • Lead data governance initiatives in the healthcare industry, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
  • Utilize expertise in Azure and Databricks-related tools to enhance data management and analytics capabilities.
  • Provide guidance on data governance best practices specific to healthcare data, including patient privacy and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive data quality improvement initiatives using advanced data governance tools and technologies.
  • Implement data governance frameworks that support healthcare data interoperability and integration.
  • Evaluate industry trends and their application to data governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, information technology, or a similar field.
  • 10+ years of related data governance experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or other graduate degree.
  • 12+ years of management experience with demonstrated experience in strategic planning and implementation.
  • Deep healthcare industry expertise with extensive knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Proven history of executing change management and building credibility with key stakeholders.
  • Strong critical-thinking and strategic leadership abilities.
  • Highly skilled in planning and delivering multiple critical, complex projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to foster relationships across multiple organizations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate data governance concepts to non-technical constituents.
  • Extensive data management and analytics experience.
  • Experience with Data Lake is desirable.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
