About the position

The Director, Data Governance & Master Data Management is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's data governance and master data management initiatives. This role involves developing and implementing frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance. The director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data standards and drive best practices in data governance, while also leading master data management activities such as data modeling and quality management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the data governance and master data management initiatives, ensuring successful implementation and adherence to frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business operations, and compliance to define and enforce data standards and quality rules.
• Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, including charters, dictionaries, and classification standards.
• Establish and maintain data governance processes such as stewardship, quality management, and issue resolution.
• Define and implement best practices for data governance, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage master data management activities, including data modeling, mapping, and quality management.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement and maintain master data management systems and tools.
• Develop and deliver training programs on data governance principles and policies.
• Monitor and measure data quality and governance metrics, providing regular reports to stakeholders.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data governance and master data management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management, or related field; master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience (10 years) in data governance and master data management roles.
• Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and best practices.
• Experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of master data management concepts, including data modeling, mapping, and quality management.
• Experience with master data management systems and tools.
• Proficiency in data analysis and data quality management techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex data issues.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.
• Experience in Agile methodologies and project management practices.
