About the position

The Data Governance Policy, Forums and Reporting lead will be part of the Services Global Data Governance Office, responsible for ensuring compliance with the Global Data Governance Policy. This role involves collaboration with various Product and Data Owners, influencing policy changes, developing new processes, and driving alignment across Services businesses. The position also focuses on reporting related to Metadata quality, Data Quality scoreboards, Lineage coverage, and Data Defect Remediation.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the central point of contact for Data Governance adherence within the Services organization.
  • Establish governance structures and update senior leadership to enforce the Citi Data Governance Policy (CDGP).
  • Lead governance working groups/forums to drive consensus and issue resolution on data quality.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, SMEs, Data Owners, and Technology Owners to execute data controls and strategic priorities.
  • Integrate Data Governance controls into Data Management technology and toolsets.
  • Develop and manage the Services Data Governance Office team, ensuring staffing adequacy.
  • Manage a team of senior professionals, including budget and planning responsibilities.
  • Drive the development of a Data Governance Metrics and Reporting function to monitor Data Governance health.
  • Build a Governance Command Center to monitor governance activities and assign tasks to data producers.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including the EMT, Board, and regulators, to communicate data strategy and progress.
  • Define the prioritized scope for the enterprise data program in collaboration with functions and lines of business.
  • Integrate functions and regional data roadmaps into an enterprise data roadmap.
  • Build the enterprise business case for data programs by collaborating with leaders across the organization.
  • Execute functional strategy in Data Governance, including publishing and embedding the strategy.
  • Facilitate consensus and resolve integration issues across Enterprise and Federated data teams.
  • Develop and execute medium- to long-term plans for Data Governance strategies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Banking or Financial Services.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
  • Strong strategic leadership skills in delivering business value through governance and executive management.
  • Ability to foresee future possibilities and translate them into strategies.
  • Experience managing ambiguity and solving complex problems.
  • Effective communication skills tailored to different audiences.
  • Experience creating frameworks to improve data quality and meet regulatory commitments.
  • Experience leveraging data governance tools for glossary, lineage, and data quality.
  • Ability to foster a positive risk culture that supports sustainable business growth.
  • Exceptional leadership skills to build a culture of accountability and collaboration.
