About the position

The Director of Data Governance is a leadership role focused on establishing and managing the data governance framework for Finance within the organization. This position is responsible for developing a cohesive data strategy, ensuring the quality and strategic use of financial data across the US and globally. The Director will lead a team in implementing data management processes, policies, and standards, while collaborating with various stakeholders to align data governance practices with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the data governance and management operating model within US Finance.
• Develop and implement a cohesive vision and strategy for US Finance data.
• Manage the day-to-day execution of standard data management processes related to master data change, data issue resolution, and quality management.
• Establish and cultivate relationships with key business stakeholders to facilitate effective governance framework implementation.
• Coordinate cross-functional and global alignment regarding data policies and standards.
• Develop data governance and management related metrics for ongoing evaluation and improvement.
• Provide thought leadership and engage in industry data initiatives and forums.
• Oversee and provide strategic leadership for large scale data related initiatives.
• Partner with the Accounting controls team to implement data related controls.
• Lead data related education and training across US Finance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or related field.
• 15+ years of previous business consulting/industry or related experience.
• 8+ years in Data Governance or related experience.
• Experience working in a global, multi-vendor environment.
• A minimum of 10 years of dynamic experience in leadership roles within Finance, Accounting, or financial data analytics.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in retail data governance is a plus.
• Proficient knowledge of SAP financials and multi-ERP systems.
