About The Position

The Director, Data Platform at GreatAmerica Financial Services is responsible for the vision, strategy, and implementation of enterprise data platforms, policies, processes, and people. This role is crucial in shaping the technical vision of the company and ensuring that data solutions align with strategic business objectives. The Director will lead the Data Delivery team, focusing on establishing a strategic data management roadmap and fostering a culture of data ownership across the organization.

Requirements

• 12+ years of relevant professional experience in data management and analysis.
• Bachelor's degree with at least 15+ years of experience.
• Leadership/management experience of multiple teams or functions.
• Experience with data and application vendor contract maintenance and negotiations.
• Proven track record in developing and maintaining a high-quality, high-availability modern data platform.

• Demonstrated success as a product owner delivering data solutions in an agile team within the financial services industry.
• Hands-on involvement with multiple high-performing data platforms in various ecosystems.
• Prior experience building data centers of excellence.

Responsibilities

• Establish the strategic data management roadmap for the organization.
• Collaborate with business leads to develop best-in-class data management strategies and tools.
• Partner with Advanced Analytics and Business Intelligence teams to ensure data accuracy and service levels.
• Supervise and manage data operations with a process-oriented and automated approach.
• Serve as a liaison between functional areas and technology for data-related business requirements.
• Provide technical thought leadership on modern data management practices and technologies.
• Coach, motivate, and lead team members in an agile environment.
• Set clear goals and expectations for a high-performing team and hold team members accountable.
• Foster team development and professional growth through mentoring and innovation.
• Perform additional duties to support the GreatAmerica Product Technology Group's strategic direction.
