About the position

The Director of Data Products Front End Developer at Webster Bank is responsible for leading the design and development of innovative user-facing features and business intelligence systems. This role focuses on building and deploying front-end web applications that facilitate enterprise data product consumption, ensuring high performance and usability across various devices and browsers. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of innovative user-facing features using modern frameworks and data platforms.
  • Transform intricate designs and user requirements into high-quality, reusable, and efficient code.
  • Optimize components to ensure top-tier performance across a wide range of web-capable devices and browsers.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.
  • Conduct code reviews, promoting best practices and maintaining a high-quality codebase.
  • Update and maintain comprehensive documentation for all applications and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's and/or Master's degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience developing/engineering desktop & mobile front-end web applications.
  • Strong knowledge of web & mobile UI/UX tools & frameworks including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, Next.js.
  • Experience with responsive design and web development for multiple device types and layouts using ReactJS.
  • Solid understanding of data driven APIs and web integration capabilities.
  • Proven track record of successfully building & configuring cloud-based AWS web servers and tools.
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) DevOps tools Gitlab & Terraform.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Business Intelligence tools such as Qlik, Tableau and other data visualization/reporting tools preferred.
