About The Position

The National Park Foundation is seeking a highly skilled Data Program Administrator to lead the establishment of a new data department and foster a data-driven culture within the organization. This role involves developing data governance strategies, implementing data management systems, and utilizing AI technologies to enhance NPF solutions. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data management, technical skills, project leadership, and a strategic mindset to drive the data vision for the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field and 7 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in data management, program administration, or a similar role, with a track record of building and/or leading data teams.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality management, and data privacy regulations.
  • Experience with data management tools, databases, and data visualization software (e.g., SQL, Power BI, AWS, Azure, Building & maintaining Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, etc.).
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Creating or leading a similar data analysis environment in work history.
  • Proven familiarization with Azure and AWS environments.
  • Certification in data management or project management (e.g., CDMP, PMP) is a plus.
  • Experience in donor-specific data analysis is also a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive plan to establish the new Data Department, including staffing, processes, and technology requirements.
  • Establish cooperative and collaborative relationships with NPF department heads and current application administrators who have some data responsibilities.
  • Create and implement data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, privacy, and security across the organization.
  • Develop data policies and standards that align with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Manage AI projects in tandem with data administration efforts.
  • Oversee the selection and implementation of data management systems, tools, and technologies.
  • Ensure effective integration of data sources and maintain a centralized data repository.
  • Lead data-related projects from conception through execution, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support decision-making processes.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive business improvements.
  • Collaborate and tutor existing application administrators engaged in data reporting projects and tasks.
  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance data literacy and capabilities across the organization.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating them into data strategies as appropriate.
