About the position

The Director of Development Analytics at Subway will play a crucial role in supporting the Analytics & Strategy team by providing development analytics that include market optimization, site selection, and site analysis. This position is responsible for developing strategies for new, relocated, and remodeled restaurants to maximize unit economics and market share, ensuring alignment with approved site requirements and strategic market plans.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes advanced Market Planning & Site Selection tools & analytics to develop market optimization plans and strategies.
  • Supports the creation of multi-year development plans by defining white space and succession planning for each location.
  • Conducts statistical analysis of site characteristics to sales/profitability and impacts of development on multi-year results.
  • Supports the continuous improvement of the current Site Evaluation & Approval process.
  • Reviews sites submitted by Business Developers and provides recommendations prior to Site Approval Committee.
  • Trains Business Developers & Subway Market Operations Teams on Site Selection Tools and Site requirements.
  • Actively reviews analysis post approval and post opening to understand abnormalities and document key learnings.
  • Supports the research of 'Best in Class' applications, platforms, and market planning tools.
  • Develops relationships with key vendors to enhance technology & analytical standards.
  • Plays a key role in the Development Reporting function including tracking, reporting status, and forecasting for all active development projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, economics, or a related discipline.
  • 4-6 years of strategy and business analytics experience in management consulting, investment banking, or a corporate strategy role.
  • 2+ years of multi-unit development analytics or similar experience.
  • Strong ability to translate quantitative and qualitative data into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong financial modeling and data analytics skills.
  • QSR/Retail experience required.

Nice-to-haves
