The Director of Development Operations plays a crucial role in this mission, reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer (CDO). This position is integral to the successful implementation of the department's annual development plan, focusing on operational excellence and efficiency in fundraising strategies. The Director will oversee a team of six, including the Director of Research and Data Analytics, Project Manager, and Development Operations Administrator, ensuring that the team has the necessary tools and resources to meet their objectives. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining systems that support large-scale fundraising campaigns, analyzing data to identify goals and target donors, and creating standardized reports for quarterly assessments. The Director will also collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate reconciliation of donations and maintain financial integrity. This role requires a strategic thinker who can recognize opportunities for innovative solutions and foster a collaborative work environment that promotes accountability and excellence among team members.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems for effective fundraising operations.
  • Serve as a strategy partner with the CDO to meet fundraising goals.
  • Design and implement standardized reports for income assessments and projections.
  • Facilitate evaluations of fundraising strategies for timely adjustments.
  • Drive development operations strategy to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Assess and determine appropriate technologies for fundraising CRM and manage related projects.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate reconciliation of donations.
  • Develop and monitor fundraising systems to project revenue and track donor pipelines.
  • Provide team members with resources to improve performance and reach objectives.
  • Promote accountability and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of nonprofit sector experience, or 10 years equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in Salesforce database administration.
  • Extensive experience in nonprofit fundraising environments.
  • Proven ability to organize and coordinate multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills to collate and disseminate data for fundraising decision-making.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to connect processes, systems, and departments.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
