About the position

As the Director of Digital Marketing, you will lead a team of SEM professionals in managing the paid marketing efforts across multiple lines of business within the DDM ecosystem. This role requires a deep passion for paid search, along with a keen awareness of industry trends, best practices, and new platform features. You will be responsible for working with large data sets, utilizing various tools to structure, clean, and map data, which will enable you to provide in-depth analysis to internal stakeholders and inform future strategies. Your role will involve managing monthly budgets that exceed seven figures, necessitating a comfort level with recommending and implementing data-backed action plans at this scale. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can hit the ground running and is expected to be a hands-on paid search specialist, leading your direct reports by example. In this position, you will measure the impact and effectiveness of various Paid Search strategies against predetermined team and company goals, using the data to inform future objectives. You will conduct audits of campaign structures, parameters, and reporting to identify opportunities for improving data accuracy and informing future strategies. Ongoing account optimization will be a key responsibility, including improvements in structure and targeting, search query mining, keyword expansion, and enhancements to bid management processes and algorithms. You will leverage your advanced knowledge of Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising to design and implement large-scale testing of conversion goals, targeting, keyword composition, and creative. Staying up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices will be essential to keep our SEM strategies cutting-edge.

Responsibilities

  • Measure the impact and effectiveness of various Paid Search strategies against predetermined team and company goals and use the data to inform future goals
  • Audit campaign structure, parameters, and reporting to identify opportunities to improve data accuracy and inform future strategy
  • Ongoing account optimization, including structure & targeting improvements (geo, demographic, day-parting, keyword and URL), search query mining, keyword expansion, advanced use of negative keywords, and improvement of bid management processes and algorithms
  • Utilize your advanced knowledge of Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising's testing capabilities to design and implement at scale testing of conversion goals, targeting, keyword composition, and creative
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices to keep our SEM strategies cutting-edge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or another related STEM degree field
  • 5 years of experience in managing SEM campaigns
  • 3 years of management/team lead experience
  • Experience with Google AdWords, Microsoft Advertising, Google Ads Editor, Microsoft Advertising Editor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using SQL (and/or other languages like Python, R, or others) to extract, clean, transform, and analyze large data sets
  • Experimentation experience to design multivariate tests, synthesize test results and build frameworks to make data-informed decisions
  • Experience with analytics platforms like Google Analytics, BigQuery, Snowflake, and others
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Looker Studio and Tableau for data analysis, monitoring, and presentation
