About the position

The Director of Digital Marketing at Harvard Business School is responsible for leading the vision and strategy for the digital experience of stakeholders, including students, alumni, and the business community. This role involves overseeing the user experience across HBS web and mobile properties, managing digital projects, and ensuring the adoption of digital standards and practices throughout the organization. The Director will also assess digital media practices, provide guidance on digital strategies, and support the implementation of new digital marketing technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the user's experience on HBS websites and improve user experience for visitors.
  • Manage development of digital experience projects, including websites and mobile applications.
  • Provide insight and counsel on effective digital experience approaches for clients across the School.
  • Assist business units in developing digital strategies that improve performance.
  • Launch and support new digital marketing technologies and manage their implementation.
  • Manage full-service email marketing resource for internal clients, including template creation and strategic best practices.
  • Manage analytics and UX resources to support school-wide marketing analytics and user experience research.
  • Manage web strategy resources to support client requests related to web content.

Requirements

  • BA/B.S. with emphasis on marketing/communication.
  • 10+ years of experience managing digital projects in complex environments, preferably in marketing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated success in integrating digital media and traditional marketing.
  • Proven abilities in combining digital strategy and experience design with technology.
  • Expertise in information architecture for the digital landscape.
  • Knowledge of web-enabled technologies and trends in desktop and mobile.
  • Knowledge of content management systems, CRM, and marketing automation tools.
  • Knowledge of web metrics and analytics.
