About the position

The Director of Digital Marketing at Harvard Business School (HBS) is responsible for leading the vision and strategy for the digital experience of stakeholders, including students, alumni, and the business community. This role involves overseeing the user experience across HBS web and mobile properties, assessing digital media practices, and ensuring the adoption of digital standards across the organization. The Director will manage various digital projects, provide insights on digital strategies, and support internal clients in enhancing their digital marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the user's experience on HBS websites and improve user experience for visitors.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage templates and patterns for a dynamic user experience.
  • Assess information architecture and best practices for HBS web properties.
  • Manage development of digital experience projects including websites and mobile applications.
  • Provide insight on effective digital experience approaches for clients across the School.
  • Assist business units in developing digital strategies to improve performance.
  • Launch and support new digital marketing technologies and manage email marketing resources.
  • Manage analytics and UX resources for school-wide marketing analytics and provide insights.
  • Conduct A/B testing and user research to inform content strategy and technical adjustments.
  • Advise on content modeling within the CMS to enhance content editing.

Requirements

  • BA/B.S. with emphasis on marketing/communication.
  • 10+ years of experience managing digital projects in complex environments, preferably in marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in integrating digital media with traditional marketing.
  • Proven abilities in combining digital strategy and experience design with technology.
  • Expertise in information architecture for the digital landscape.
  • Knowledge of web-enabled technologies and trends in desktop and mobile.
  • Knowledge of content management systems, CRM, and marketing automation tools.
  • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
