About the position

We are looking for a highly skilled Director, Digital Marketing. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Director, Digital Marketing will play a pivotal role in defining and driving Discovery Education's digital marketing strategies and execution. This role must drive growth across acquisition, expansion, and renewal. The ideal candidate will be a creative, data-driven marketer who can optimize user journeys from paid media or organic search results and ensure they get through post-form completion. This role will fuel revenue growth. Being cross-functionally oriented, you will also collaborate closely with all Creative, Brand, Communications, K-12 Marketing team, Corporate Partnership team, and Product Marketing to develop best-in-class media and web strategies executed with excellence. As the Director, Digital Marketing, you will be the strategic leader who drives all of our digital marketing initiatives, focusing on driving brand awareness, generating leads, and supporting our growth objectives in the B2B education technology market. This role will lead our paid media strategy to support our K-12 business and corporate partnerships. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, and leverage data-driven insights to create and execute impactful digital marketing campaigns. This role will develop our web strategy. In This Role You Will: Strategic Planning Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing strategies that align with our business goals and target the education technology buyer and our corporate partnership decision-makers. Track the effectiveness of campaigns and continuously improve. This role will be the key interface with our digital media agency and will develop the strategy for paid media and manage the agency and its performance closely. Team Leadership Manage and mentor a team of digital marketers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Lead Generation Design and execute lead generation campaigns to attract and convert potential clients. Utilize various digital channels, including SEO, SEM, and paid media. Website Ownership Responsible for website strategy and conversion performance. SEO and Paid Media Ownership Responsible for paid media performance, SEO performance and optimization. Analytics and Reporting Analyze campaign performance, user behavior, and market trends to make data-driven decisions. Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate results and insights to senior management. Budget Management Develop and manage the digital marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and maximizing ROI. Innovation and Trends Stay abreast of the latest digital marketing trends, tools, and technologies. Identify new opportunities to leverage emerging trends for competitive advantage. AI Champion Utilizing AI in this role is mandatory and helping train others in marketing and across other teams is needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in digital marketing, with a focus on B2B and education technology sectors.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring a team.
  • Expertise in digital marketing channels and tools, including SEO, SEM, paid media, and analytics platforms.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
  • Must have experience with Salesforce.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the education technology industry and its unique challenges and opportunities is highly desirable.
  • AI experience to scale paid media and SEO is required.
