About the position

The Director of Digital Marketing at National Life Group is a leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the company's digital marketing strategy. This position involves managing a team of digital marketing professionals, overseeing various marketing channels, and ensuring a strong online presence for the company. The role emphasizes collaboration across departments and requires a blend of strategic thinking, analytical skills, and hands-on digital marketing expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of individual contributors responsible for different digital marketing tactics.
  • Provide leadership to the Digital Marketing team, including goal development, performance management, and employee development.
  • Own and drive National Life's digital marketing strategy, including social media and marketing automation.
  • Oversee the strategy and governance of NationalLife.com and other web properties.
  • Evolve the website to enhance online presence and educate visitors.
  • Develop processes to prioritize and deliver web projects on time.
  • Manage external agencies for SEO and other projects as needed.
  • Champion marketing automation activities and platform management.
  • Drive multi-channel acquisition strategies including search, social, and email marketing.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure web plans align with strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure clear and compelling web information architecture and customer journey.
  • Analyze site performance and trends to improve results.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in digital marketing, preferably in insurance or financial services.
  • 8 years of experience in website strategy, including UX/UI and governance.
  • Experience with information architecture, user experience, and analytics/testing.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and web authoring languages; experience with Sitecore and Wordpress is a plus.
  • 5 years of progressive people leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, technology, or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into marketing recommendations.
  • Experience in building multi-channel acquisition strategies.
  • Knowledge of marketing automation and CRM platforms, with experience in Salesforce and Ad Tech being a plus.
  • Experience in social media engagement and content strategy.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
