About the position

As the Director of Social Media at Walmart, you will be responsible for evolving and leading the strategy for Walmart's organic social channels. This role focuses on connecting the brand to culture through engaging content and driving brand fandom. You will lead a team of social marketers, collaborate with internal and external partners, and ensure the execution of social content aligns with Walmart's brand strategy. Your work will be pivotal in leveraging social media to enhance customer experiences and achieve business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and evolve Walmart's social strategy across priority and emerging platforms.
  • Oversee the strategic planning and implementation of Walmart's organic social strategy.
  • Manage relationships with the Walmart Creative Studio and other agency partners to ensure on-brand content.
  • Plan and execute social content and campaigns meticulously.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify growth opportunities and marketing synergies.
  • Establish, track, and report on social KPIs, analyzing data to inform optimization recommendations.
  • Connect with social platform partners to stay updated on industry trends and opportunities.
  • Develop processes that drive efficiency in social media operations.
  • Champion the Walmart customer in all initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field and 6 years' experience in marketing or related field OR 8 years' experience in marketing or related field.
  • 3 years' supervisory experience.
  • 6+ years of experience managing social media campaigns or related field.
  • Proven ability to build relationships quickly and influence without direct authority.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in measuring social media performance metrics.
  • Strong judgment and strategic thinking skills.
  • Outstanding project management and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Digital marketing experience (e.g., affiliate marketing, display advertising).
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team.
