About the position

The Director of Distribution at Liberty Mutual is responsible for managing a complex subregion territory and leading a team to achieve profit and growth goals. This role involves overseeing agency management, developing talent, and collaborating with internal partners to execute business strategies effectively. The position emphasizes building and maintaining agency partnerships, managing financial targets, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Owns and manages a complex subregion territory and team.
  • Achieves profit and growth goals for assigned agencies.
  • Provides leadership, development, and coaching to the Territory Management team.
  • Manages agency management, results, profitability, and growth for assigned agencies.
  • Collaborates with internal business partners to manage regulatory complexities.
  • Drives execution of annual agency management process and territory strategy.
  • Leads Senior Territory Manager team to optimize agency footprint.
  • Develops strategies to ensure effective agency partnerships.
  • Identifies and assesses potential risks to develop resolutions.
  • Inspires, coaches, and develops team for engagement and skill enhancement.
  • Collaborates with regional marketing team for effective communications.
  • Leverages data and analysis to address macro business trends.
  • Maintains understanding of competitive landscape and legislative awareness.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business or related field or equivalent training required.
  • MBA, CIC and/or institute designation preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively more responsible related work experience in a field distribution environment.
  • Proven success in building internal and external partnerships.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of agency business.
  • Solid track record of achieving results, project management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
