About the position

The Director of Donor Development at March of Dimes is responsible for ensuring data integrity, analyzing reports, and developing donor relationships to drive mission impact and revenue growth. This role involves collaborating with market staff, mobilizing volunteers, and establishing partnerships to position March of Dimes as a leader in maternal and child health care. The Director will report to the Executive Director or Senior Director of Donor Development and will play a key role in achieving revenue goals through strategic donor engagement and stewardship.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure data integrity and analyze reports to evaluate and implement action plans.
  • Develop and steward donor relationships to drive mission impact and revenue growth.
  • Mobilize supporters and engage volunteers to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Identify and secure market volunteer leadership to support mission investment products.
  • Collaborate with market staff to execute event core tactics and ensure best-in-class fundraising events.
  • Maintain and grow a diversified donor revenue portfolio by moving donors through the donor continuum.
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships with corporate partners and community organizations.
  • Provide tailored experiences for donors and create mission-led activations in stewardship plans.
  • Hold direct reports accountable to productivity and profitability goals, providing constructive feedback.
  • Create a respectful and culturally diverse work environment for staff.

Requirements

  • Proven success in cultivating and securing major gifts.
  • Experience in developing corporate partnerships.
  • Ability to work across various sectors and communities to ensure mission alignment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to motivate staff and lead change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves
