About the position

The Director of Employee Communications at American Tower will lead the employee communications strategy for the U.S. Tower division, focusing on enhancing employee engagement through creative and strategic communication plans. This role involves collaborating with senior leadership and various stakeholders to develop and implement high-impact communication initiatives that align with the company's business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communications programs that enhance understanding of business goals and improve cross-functional communications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create engaging communication tactics, including Town Hall meetings and leadership team meetings.
  • Translate complex ideas into clear and consistent messages for diverse audiences.
  • Work with Marketing, Public Affairs, and External Communications teams to ensure aligned messaging across all channels.
  • Support HR initiatives through targeted communication strategies related to Employee Value Proposition and performance management.
  • Measure the effectiveness of communication activities and utilize feedback for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree in Communications or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate, internal, and executive communications, along with event management experience required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience advising and writing for executive leaders required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to create compelling narratives.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in internal communications and interest in next-generation communication tools.
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills.
