About the position

Western Colorado University is seeking a strategic leader to serve as the Director of its Energy Management Program. This half-time, 12-month position involves overseeing program development, budget management, and fostering external partnerships for student placements and fundraising. The Director will also promote student engagement and maintain program accreditation, ensuring alignment with the university's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Engage with donors, alumni, and community leaders in fundraising activities.
• Ensure sustainable student enrollment in the Energy Management Program and support its growth.
• Develop networks to aid student enrollment, retention, completion, and post-graduate success.
• Oversee effective communication and marketing through oral, print, digital, and social media.
• Maintain a productive partnership with the program's advisory board.

Requirements

• Master's degree or significant leadership experience in energy management.
• Demonstrated experience in fundraising and/or business development.
• Ability to understand the current and future career horizon of the energy management field.
• Experience building and sustaining relationships with stakeholders.
• Successful record of achieving strategic goals through shared vision and change management.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
• Experience in fiscal planning and budgeting management.
• Good communication, interpersonal, leadership, and motivational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with higher education energy management or land management programs.
• 3+ years of experience with fundraising and donor relationships.
