About the position

The Director of Engineering for Grocery Automation is responsible for developing and implementing processes, technologies, and material handling equipment improvement strategies across domestic networks. This role involves collaborating with senior leadership to enhance supply chain strategies, reduce costs, and improve operational performance. The director will oversee multiple projects, manage suppliers, and ensure that initiatives align with business objectives while fostering a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement processes and technologies to improve material handling equipment across domestic networks.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to create sustainable supply chain strategies and identify areas of opportunity.
• Manage initiatives to reduce operating expenses and enhance services within the supply chain.
• Direct the analysis and design of new distribution centers and processes, ensuring the application of industry best practices.
• Provide guidance and drive execution of logistics engineering projects, ensuring they meet financial goals.
• Develop strategies to attract and maintain a skilled workforce, supporting mentorship and succession planning.
• Cultivate an environment of respect and integrity, integrating company values into all practices.
• Develop and leverage partnerships to maximize business goal achievement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 5 years' experience in Industrial Engineering, supply chain, or a related area OR 7 years' experience in Industrial Engineering, supply chain, or a related area.
• 3 years' supervisory experience.
