About the position

The Director of Enterprise Communications at Mass General Brigham is a senior-level role focused on leading strategic communications to support the organization's transformation initiatives. This position is responsible for crafting and delivering compelling narratives that engage both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The Director will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to manage complex projects and facilitate effective communication across various channels, ultimately enhancing employee engagement and supporting change management efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to support transformation initiatives.
  • Advise leaders on strategic and tactical change communication and management best practices.
  • Manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, ensuring effective communication across the organization.
  • Lead strategic planning efforts and provide communications support to senior leadership under the direction of the VP, Enterprise Communications.
  • Transform inputs and insights from cross-functional teams into coherent narratives.
  • Craft compelling narratives and content that resonate with diverse audiences and align with organizational goals.
  • Draft, edit, and produce engaging messages and content consistent with the organization's transformation goals.
  • Utilize various channels to reach and engage targeted internal audiences, implementing new approaches as needed.
  • Adapt communication strategies to evolving organizational needs and external environments.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and make data-driven adjustments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, business, health care, or a related field required; master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in communications, marketing, and/or change management.
  • Extensive knowledge of communication development and delivery principles and practices.
  • Experience in a large, complex organization, preferably in human resources and change management.
  • Proven track record of managing strategies for C-level executives.
  • Exceptional storytelling skills with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear messages.
  • Familiarity with Change Management methodologies and experience in large-scale transformation projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Mass General Brigham institutions, communication channels, and processes.
  • Experience in labor relations and bargaining processes.
