About the position

Baldor Specialty Foods is seeking a strategic Director of Data Strategy and Enterprise Applications to lead the enterprise-wide data program. This role is essential for enabling business functions through effective data strategy and low code development, ensuring data accessibility, security, and optimal utilization. The Director will establish a robust data governance framework to support the company's mission of leveraging data for business success while promoting low code solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an enterprise-wide data governance framework ensuring data quality, consistency, and security.
• Establish data governance policies, standards, and procedures for secure and efficient data access.
• Lead the creation and management of a data governance council for cross-functional collaboration.
• Define and prioritize data exploration initiatives aligned with strategic objectives.
• Drive the adoption of low code development platforms across the organization.
• Collaborate with IT and business leaders to identify automation and process improvement opportunities.
• Oversee the lifecycle of low code development projects from concept to deployment.
• Align data strategy efforts with the organization's mission and business goals.
• Provide strategic guidance on data management, quality, and security to senior leadership.
• Develop and maintain enterprise-wide data dictionaries and metadata management practices.
• Foster a data-driven culture by promoting best practices in data governance and low code development.
• Work closely with all business functions to ensure data governance and low code initiatives meet their needs.
• Engage with data stewards and business leaders to define roles and responsibilities for data governance.
• Provide training and support on data governance principles and low code development.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team focused on data governance and low code development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Progressive experience in data governance or data management with a proven track record of leading enterprise-level initiatives.
• Experience in low code development platforms and familiarity with regulatory compliance.
• Strong background in data strategy and management with extensive experience leading enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for effective collaboration across business functions.
• Technical proficiency in data visualization, analysis tools, and project management software.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications in data governance, project management, or related disciplines.
• Knowledge of DAX, SQL, Python, and R.
