About the position

The Director, Enterprise Data Engineering is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive data strategy across the bank, aligning with corporate vision to enhance decision-making for both colleagues and customers. This role is pivotal in the Digital Transformation initiative, focusing on centralizing and monetizing data, developing data products, and ensuring data privacy and reporting functions are in place. The Director will lead a high-impact team to deliver data and analytics solutions that drive business growth and improve customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy for engineering data technologies across the bank.
  • Provide leadership in big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and analytics for the enterprise.
  • Partner with business units, CDAO, and technology leaders to formulate business and data strategies and product roadmaps.
  • Develop technology vision, strategy, and roadmap for business units and lead effective execution.
  • Advise senior management on emerging technologies and digital trends relevant to company goals.
  • Determine capital investment parameters, priorities, and risks for technology initiatives.
  • Influence enterprise-wide digital data transformation and mobilize commitment towards it.
  • Identify, recommend, and develop cost-effective technology solutions for the enterprise.
  • Ensure transparency and collaboration between IT and business partners.
  • Centralize data by integrating and mastering data sources for consistent, high-quality information.
  • Support data quality efforts through cleansing, standardizing, and creating data scorecards.
  • Implement effective organizational design to support business engagement.
  • Direct the design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of products and platforms for operations and customer applications.
  • Establish metrics for managing technology effectiveness and impact.
  • Maintain oversight of technology projects to ensure proper planning and delivery.
  • Partner with enterprise teams for disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Advance DevOps methodology and effective technology & security standards.
  • Monitor industry developments in IT operations and implement relevant tools and frameworks.
  • Review and oversee vendor and managed service agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, or Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 15 years of relevant technology experience or equivalent operational responsibilities.
  • 10 or more years of experience in managing technology in national and/or regional banks.
  • 10 or more years of experience in leading teams through operational concerns.
  • 10 or more years of experience in creating and executing strategic initiatives.
  • 5 or more years of experience in leading an enterprise data team and executing a clear data strategy.
  • 3 or more years of experience in managing DevOps teams.
  • 4 or more years of experience managing full life cycle statistical modeling.
