About the position

The Director of Enterprise Program Management at Insperity is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and managing complex, strategic enterprise-wide projects and programs. This position ensures that all initiatives align with the organizational goals and deliver significant value to the company. The Director will lead the Enterprise Project Management team, establishing and maintaining project management standards, methodologies, and best practices that are essential for the success of the organization. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to foster collaboration across various departments to ensure effective project management governance and standardization. In this capacity, the Director will develop and implement governance frameworks, policies, and procedures that ensure consistency, compliance, and accountability across all projects. They will oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of strategic enterprise projects and programs, ensuring that they align with the defined project and program objectives. Collaboration with Strategic Development leadership is crucial to define and align project goals with long-term strategic objectives, as well as to prioritize projects, allocate resources, and mitigate risks effectively. The Director will also work closely with Change Management leadership to integrate change management strategies into project plans, ensuring the successful adoption of new processes and systems. They will provide strategic direction and oversight for project managers, ensuring they have the necessary support and resources to succeed. Risk management is a key responsibility, as the Director will identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues across the project portfolio, developing comprehensive strategies to address them. Monitoring and reporting on project and program performance, including OKRs, KPIs, metrics, and financials, will be a regular part of the role, providing updates to executive leadership. The Director will foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, driving process enhancements and promoting best practices in alignment with Insperity's cultural norms and strengths. Mentoring and developing project management professionals within the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) is also a critical aspect of this role, as the Director will build a high-performing team that delivers exceptional results.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the Enterprise Project Management team, establishing and maintaining project management standards, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Develops and implements governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and accountability across projects.
  • Oversees the planning, execution, and monitoring of strategic enterprise projects and programs, ensuring alignment with Project and Program objectives.
  • Collaborates with Strategic Development leadership to define and align project goals with long-term Strategic Objectives.
  • Collaborates with leadership across the organization to align project priorities, allocate resources, mitigate risks, and ensure successful delivery of projects and programs.
  • Works closely with Change Management leadership to integrate change management strategies into project plans ensuring successful adoption of new processes and systems.
  • Provides strategic direction and oversight for project managers, ensuring they have the necessary support and resources to succeed.
  • Identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks and issues across the project portfolio, developing comprehensive risk management strategies.
  • Monitors and reports on project and program performance, including OKRs, KPIs, metrics, and financials, providing regular updates to executive leadership.
  • Fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, driving process enhancements and promoting best practices in alignment with Insperity's cultural norms and strengths.
  • Mentors and develops project management professionals within the EPMO, building a high-performing team that delivers exceptional results.
  • Develops and implements project management training, certification, continuous learning, and career pathing strategies and frameworks.
  • Ensures effective stakeholder engagement and communication, managing expectations and facilitating alignment across the organization.
  • Makes hiring decisions through a targeted selection process of behavioral interviewing to obtain future leaders.
  • Coaches, mentors, and leads leaders through clear expectations and line of sight to business strategy with solid understanding of operations.
  • Provides employees with timely, candid, and constructive feedback, endeavors to develop employees to their full potential, recognizes and rewards employees for accomplishments, conducts timely one-on-ones, and prepares and conducts annual performance reviews.
  • Builds inclusive and collaborative partnerships across multiple departments, with various approaches to influence and plan work around common goals.
  • Makes decisions and communicates in a way that connects people, tasks, and resources to achieve business objectives.
  • Supports the business by building high-performing teams, coaching leaders through team development, and achievement of business objectives.
  • Sets high standards and expectations for achieving goals. Develops and executes plans with input from multiple teams, establishing accountability and clarity. Creates measurements and performance indicators for monitoring progress and holding teams accountable to achieving business results.
  • Recognizes the need for change across the department, oversees the development of change plans, looks for continuous improvement opportunities, monitors internal and external business conditions, and reports progress. Takes accountability to implement change, create momentum, and influence others through intentional communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, project management, or related field required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Ten or more years of leadership roles within project management, program management, or related experience required, with a proven track record of leading complex, enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Previous experience with leading enterprise PMOs is preferred.
