In the role of Director - Enterprise Solution Architect for Research, Development and Medical (WRDM) at Pfizer, you will be at the forefront of driving impactful technology solutions that enhance patient care. This position is pivotal in supporting Pfizer's digital and 'data first' strategy, which aims to accelerate the delivery of innovative solutions across research, development, and medical functions. You will collaborate with a team of innovators dedicated to maintaining robust systems and ensuring information security, ultimately contributing to the improvement of healthcare solutions for patients. Your technical expertise will be essential in developing and supporting software applications that meet the needs of the business. You will lead various activities, including coding, testing, debugging, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of software applications. As a leader, you will guide the development of program logic for new applications while also modifying existing ones to align with evolving business requirements. In this role, you will be recognized as an expert in your technical domain, capable of articulating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will build and leverage constructive relationships across the organization to achieve the goals and objectives of your division. Your responsibilities will include overseeing Pfizer's strategies for a portfolio of products and projects, fostering a culture of innovation, and driving growth within the Pfizer Digital team. As the Director, Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for delivering Enterprise Architecture outputs, including detailed Solution Sketches, City Plans, and Solution Architecture Diagrams. You will lead complex projects within a business unit, providing both technical and strategic context to senior leadership. Your role will also involve mentoring junior colleagues, ensuring they have the guidance and growth opportunities necessary to succeed in their careers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Enterprise Architecture outputs including creation of detailed Solution Sketches, City Plans, and Solution Architecture Diagrams as necessary.
• Lead complex projects within a business unit, providing technical and strategic context.
• Advise senior leadership on technical and business constraints and how they interact.
• Serve as the trusted voice for the enterprise regarding technical architecture.
• Contribute to the business fit and focus of key initiatives.
• Mentor junior colleagues and provide guidance and growth opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud solutions (i.e.: Amazon, Google, Microsoft Azure).
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong diplomacy skills; able to navigate a difficult political environment.
• Demonstrated ability to translate marketing material into actionable and understandable truth.
• An 'execution mindset' focused on getting things done quickly and simply.
• Demonstrated experience with one or more Pfizer core platforms (Adobe AEM, Salesforce).

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of business domain expertise in one or more research and/or product development areas in Life sciences or related industry.
• AWS/Azure cloud architect certification.
• Experience with multiple software delivery models.
• Demonstrated breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities.
