About the position

The Director, Equine Marketing at Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health USA is responsible for leading the marketing strategy and execution for the company's equine brands in the US. This role involves managing the development and implementation of marketing plans, overseeing budget management, and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. The director will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to drive brand performance and growth, while fostering a healthy work environment that promotes diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and directs the development of portfolio and brand objectives and strategic plans.
  • Oversees implementation of tactical plans to ensure attainment of KPIs and financial objectives.
  • Represents portfolio platform with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leads development of portfolio positioning, messaging, and personality.
  • Ensures appropriate strategic direction is communicated to and executed by external agencies.
  • Conducts continuous review of product and market performance to identify growth opportunities.
  • Acts as point of contact on direction with marketing ops team on GTN management and business unit communications.
  • Forecasts and monitors Gross and Net Sales for the portfolio.
  • Meets financial targets for the marketing department and brand(s).
  • Chairs cross-functional teams involving Marketing, Sales, Market Research, Regulatory, Legal, and Medical.
  • Develops, coordinates, and executes annual business plan.
  • Acts as the species lead for brand lifecycle management and business development opportunities.
  • Coaches, motivates, and monitors team members' performance.
  • Performs all Company business in accordance with regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of ten (10) years successful industry experience.
  • At least five (5) years in a marketing or related commercial function in Animal Health, packaged goods, or healthcare marketing.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in progressive leadership roles, preferably in sales or marketing.
  • Proven capability in managing multi-media consumer communication strategy development and execution.
  • Thorough understanding of the marketing process with proven ability to develop and implement marketing campaigns.
  • Outstanding project management skills and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and capacity to manage external marketing agencies.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and database applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in interactive/on-line marketing is a plus.
