About the position

The Director of Advancement Events is responsible for the comprehensive planning, production, execution, and evaluation of a diverse portfolio of events and creative experiences. This role requires strong leadership in design, creativity, and innovation, overseeing all aspects of event management including marketing, budgeting, vendor relationships, logistics, and on-site execution. The Director must excel in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating high levels of customer service and professionalism, particularly under stress, while managing multiple overlapping tasks to meet critical deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision and oversight for event design, creativity, and innovation.
• Manage event marketing and communications strategies.
• Oversee budgets, contracts, and guest management for events.
• Cultivate and maintain vendor relationships.
• Utilize event technologies and platforms effectively.
• Plan logistics including food & beverage, space planning, and A/V & lighting.
• Assign staffing roles and manage on-site execution of events.
• Conduct post-event evaluations and follow-ups.
• Support other university events and academic ceremonies as needed.
• Participate in university-wide committees and working groups.
