About the position

The Director of Facilities at Philabundance is a pivotal role responsible for driving the development and implementation of the strategic plan for the organization. This position involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple warehouses, ensuring compliance with OSHA, Serve Safe, and other relevant regulations, while also aligning with best practices for safe food handling and logistics. The Director will lead by example, fostering leadership within the team and acting as a strong liaison with both internal and external customers. The role requires the Director to develop, implement, and monitor performance metrics for the Warehouse, which includes managing the Repack, Inventory Control, and Quality Control teams. The Director will also be responsible for ensuring on-time delivery, adherence to budgetary requirements, and streamlining processes to enhance operational efficiencies. In addition to managing the facilities maintenance operations across five buildings and four locations in Philadelphia, the Director will supervise a team of Facilities Associates and manage relationships with various facilities-related vendors, including janitorial services, landscaping, and utility programs. The role encompasses general facilities management tasks such as preventative and corrective maintenance, custodial services, and special projects that require building and grounds involvement. Collaboration with the Chief Logistics Officer (CLO) is essential for areas such as space planning, pest control, waste management, and equipment maintenance. The Director will also play a key role in business continuity, disaster response, and operational procedures, while managing special construction projects and serving as a liaison for external audits. The Director is expected to manage the annual budget, including forecasting and compliance, and to ensure positive results through effective team management. This includes predicting workforce needs, establishing high levels of customer service, and integrating safety and food management practices. The Director will prepare reports and updates for the CLO and Senior Leadership team, execute solutions for problem areas, and lead internal audits. The position requires a commitment to Philabundance's cultural pillars, focusing on People, Professionalism, Partnerships, and Progress, while ensuring that all communications and actions reflect these values.
