About the position

The Director of Faculty Recruitment and Operations at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is responsible for overseeing and leading recruitment, onboarding, retention, and offboarding processes for faculty and staff within the School of Medicine. This role involves collaboration with various departments and leaders to ensure efficient operations and compliance with organizational policies. The director will develop strategies, policies, and workflows to enhance recruitment efforts and improve employee retention in a competitive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and leadership to managers overseeing recruitment and operations teams.
  • Develop and implement strategies for faculty and staff recruitment, onboarding, retention, and offboarding.
  • Create and update policies and procedures related to recruitment and employee management.
  • Collaborate with Central HR and other departments to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop service level agreements with departments and continuously evaluate performance.
  • Manage relationships with various stakeholders and respond to customer inquiries.
  • Track and analyze turnover and develop initiatives to improve retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience, including Organizational Development/Operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience directing/supervising employees.
  • Experience leading and collaborating in process improvement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing demands effectively.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
  • Experience in recruitment, onboarding, and retention best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in related field.
  • Leadership experience in an academic institution.
  • Knowledge and experience in designing and maintaining physician compensation plans.
  • Working knowledge of OHSU personnel and payroll policies and procedures.
