About the position

As the Director of Field Applications Engineering at Morse Micro, you will lead a team focused on supporting Tier 1 customers in North America. This role involves collaborating with sales and marketing to understand customer needs, assisting in the integration of Morse Micro's 802.11ah chips into IoT products, and working closely with design teams in Australia and China. You will be responsible for managing customer support journeys, improving support efficiency, and ensuring alignment between customer expectations and product development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Tier 1 Customer Support journeys and associated metrics of performance.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve support efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage priorities across customers and FAE resources.
  • Drive customer and market requirements into core engineering regarding product documentation, software, and ecosystem enablement.
  • Collaborate with customers, sales, and product management to gather and prioritize customer and market requirements.
  • Translate customer needs into actionable product specifications and roadmaps.
  • Ensure alignment between customer expectations and product development.
  • Drive training requirements and agendas for Internal Sales, Field Application Engineering, External Sales Rep, and Distribution Partners.
  • Create training materials and conduct training sessions to enhance the technical knowledge and sales capabilities of the team.
  • Support FAE and Sales with customers who are in the evaluation phase to push product integration.
  • Provide technical guidance and solutions to address customer challenges and ensure successful product integration.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal teams to drive product adoption and satisfaction.
  • Assist customers with design review, bring-up, chip integration, and HW/RF related debugging and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 15+ years experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience in a B2B client-facing role managing a high-performing team.
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships cross-functionally and lead with influence.
  • Strong communication skills with analytic and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Experience building a product from concept to production.
  • Familiarity with embedded software and RF networking, preferably 802.11 series standards.
  • Project management skills.
  • Exposure to customer requirements and translating them to project scope.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with hardware and software debugging.
  • Knowledge of IoT product integration.
