About the position

We are seeking a skilled Director, Field Sales Cycling (West) to join our Adventure Sports platform. The ideal candidate will oversee all sales activities, develop strategic sales plans, build Revelyst cycling brands at retail and digital partners, and drive regional revenue growth. In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, and execution of North American strategies for all cycling specialty partners in the West Region. You will also be responsible for planning, conducting day-to-day operations, and managing West region Field Sales Representatives in the U.S. As the Director of Field Sales, you will partner with the East and Canadian Directors of Field Sales to lead the strategies for all Cycling categories, including the development, implementation, and execution for North America. You will work closely with senior management to ensure strategies are understood and executed in the North American field, deliver annual key performance indicators, and set the team up for success. This position reports to the Sr Director, Field Sales Cycling North America and will be located from your work-from-home location in our West region. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead, mentor, and manage a team of Field Sales Representatives to achieve sales targets and objectives by providing guidance, setting performance goals, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. You will develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand market share and increase revenue, aggressively research, identify, qualify, and target potential new accounts, and build strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders in the region. Additionally, you will analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth, collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and campaigns, and provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and performance analysis to senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Field Sales Representatives to achieve sales targets and objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand market share and increase revenue.
  • Research, identify, qualify, and target potential new accounts, delivering on a new account goal annually.
  • Build strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders in the region.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and campaigns.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and performance analysis to senior management.
  • Develop plans to deliver annual net sales and contribution plans for the region.
  • Effectively manage all trade, visual merchandising, and selling expense budgets.
  • Manage overall planning process, including strategic planning, target development, customer tactics, and retail execution goals.
  • Manage overall sales forecast process throughout the year to measure achievement vs. AOP and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Work with the Finance Director to review and assess business opportunities as they emerge by leveraging financial data and understanding to inform trade spending and investment decisions.
  • Develop Target Markets and deliver above-plan growth in these markets.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully leading and motivating sales teams.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.).
  • Experience working in the industry with solid relationships with major partners.
  • Experience in the action sports, wholesale apparel, or retail industries preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel within the region as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
