About the position

Revelyst, the future standalone Outdoor Products company at Vista Outdoor, is seeking a skilled Director, Field Sales Cycling (West) to join our Adventure Sports platform. This role is pivotal in overseeing all sales activities, developing strategic sales plans, and building Revelyst cycling brands at retail and digital partners. The Director will drive regional revenue growth and lead the development, implementation, and execution of North American strategies for all cycling specialty partners in the West Region. This position requires a strong leader who can manage day-to-day operations and oversee the West region Field Sales Representatives in the U.S. In this capacity, the Director of Field Sales will collaborate closely with the East and Canadian Directors of Field Sales to lead strategies across all Cycling categories. This includes the development, implementation, and execution of strategies for North America. The successful candidate will work with senior management to ensure that strategies are understood and executed effectively in the North American field, delivering on annual key performance indicators and setting the team up for success. The Director will have the opportunity to lead, mentor, and manage a team of Field Sales Representatives, guiding them to achieve sales targets and objectives. This involves developing and implementing strategic sales plans aimed at expanding market share and increasing revenue. The role also entails aggressively researching, identifying, qualifying, and targeting potential new accounts, with a goal of delivering on new account targets annually. Building strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders in the region is essential, as is analyzing sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities. Collaboration with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and campaigns is also a key responsibility. The Director will provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and performance analysis to senior management, develop plans to deliver annual net sales and contribution plans for the region, and effectively manage all trade, visual merchandising, and selling expense budgets. Additionally, the Director will oversee the overall planning process, including strategic planning, target development, customer tactics, and retail execution goals, while managing the sales forecast process throughout the year to measure achievement against the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and implement corrective actions as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and Field Sales Representatives in the West region.
  • Collaborate with East and Canadian Directors of Field Sales to lead strategies for all Cycling categories.
  • Research, identify, qualify, and target potential new accounts annually.
  • Build strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders in the region.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and campaigns.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and performance analysis to senior management.

  • Manage trade, visual merchandising, and selling expense budgets.

  • Work with the Finance Director to assess business opportunities and inform trade spending decisions.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully leading and motivating sales teams.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.).
  • Experience working in the industry with solid relationships with major partners.
  • Experience in the action sports, wholesale apparel, or retail industries preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel within the region as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
