About the position

The Director of Program Finance is a strategic leadership role responsible for providing financial guidance and business management across the Broadband Communications Systems Sector of a reputable aerospace and defense organization. This position involves driving financial strategy, optimizing performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance profitability and manage working capital effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with program teams to evaluate program Estimate at Completion (EAC), assessing risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain consistent communication with FP&A leadership to ensure timely updates on financial goals, encompassing Monthly Financial Reports (MFR), Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and Strategic Plan (SP) objectives.
  • Lead finance transformation projects and champion process improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and performance.
  • Oversee Working Capital initiatives and support the achievement of AOP and SP financial targets by collaborating with Operations and Programs leadership.
  • Review and approve business proposals and quotes across divisions.
  • Support International Financial Reporting (IFR) opportunity analysis and preparation.
  • Supervise month-end close activities, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements in collaboration with the Controllers team.
  • Direct the Finance staff through recruiting, training, coaching, and performance evaluation, building a robust and effective team.
  • Analyze proposal cost and pricing data, ensuring alignment with financial and contractual standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 years of finance-related experience, or a Graduate Degree with 13 years of experience.
  • A total of 19 years of experience is required in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in Indirect Cost and Rate Management.
  • 5+ years of increasing management responsibility in finance.
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Proficiency in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other government finance guidelines specific to Aerospace and Defense.
  • Demonstrated experience managing various contract types: Fixed Price, Fixed Unit Rate, Cost Plus, and Time & Material.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven success engaging with senior management and cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in defense finance with expertise in complex portfolio management.
  • Proficiency in earned value management and program controls.
  • Experience with SOX compliance.
