About the position

The Director of Finance, Accounting, and Statutory Reporting at Hitachi Rail will lead a team responsible for financial reporting across the US and Canada. This role involves ensuring compliance with IFRS and USGAAP, overseeing the preparation of financial statements, and managing tax compliance. The director will also be responsible for internal controls, audit processes, and providing financial guidance to support business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team responsible for financial reporting for Hitachi Rail North America and all US and Canadian legal entities.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and USGAAP for financial reporting.
  • Prepare and submit individual financial statements and related disclosures for board approval.
  • Coordinate monthly financial closing schedules and ensure compliance with reporting deadlines.
  • Review and approve income tax provisions and related tax accounting.
  • Ensure robust internal controls over financial reporting and compliance with J-Sox requirements.
  • Coordinate activities to support internal and external audit processes and tax audits.
  • Manage income tax compliance across Federal, State, and Local jurisdictions in the US and Canada.
  • Analyze tax implications for proposals and tenders, and implement strategies post-award.
  • Ensure effectiveness of Purchase-to-Pay and Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Monitor and report on business KPIs, providing financial support and guidance to management.
  • Oversee staffing, workload analysis, and resource allocation in alignment with Group priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of accounting/finance experience with visible progression in management experience.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
