About the position

The Director, Finance Accounting/Reporting/Analysis is responsible for overseeing the accounting functions for an operating segment or region within Elevance Health. This role involves managing the completion of consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and implementing policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will also play a key role in the integration of acquisitions and will be responsible for hiring and developing a team of accounting professionals.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the accurate completion of consolidated financial statements.
• Conduct account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Make reserve adjustment recommendations and prepare journal entries.
• Review accounting pronouncements for applicability and compliance.
• Recommend and implement accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist in the implementation and due diligence of acquisitions and changes in financial arrangements.
• Hire, train, coach, counsel, and evaluate the performance of direct reports.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 8 years of significant accounting experience.
• Prior management experience in accounting.
• Experience dealing with SEC and consolidated reporting.
• Statutory reporting experience.
