About the position

At TechNH, the Director of Finance and Administration plays a crucial role in the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to the President and PE CFO. This position is designed for a hands-on and participative manager who will lead and develop an internal team across various critical areas including Accounting, Finance, Business Planning and Budgeting, Human Resources, and Administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring the maintenance and reconciliation of all subledgers such as Accounts Receivable, Inventory, and Accounts Payable. They will manage the company's accounting for inventory, which includes monitoring transactions, updating perpetual and general ledgers, gathering and analyzing data, and identifying any inconsistencies or discrepancies. In addition to accounting management, the Director will ensure that the right processes, structures, and levels of reporting are in place to efficiently lead and oversee finance operations, including financial policies. They will lead cost accounting automation initiatives, analyze data to determine the costs of business activities, and drive improvements in the Standard Costing system. The role also involves the preparation of annual operating plans and capital budgets, along with monthly monitoring of budget versus actual performance. The Director will maintain quality control over financial transactions and reporting, manage banking relationships, cash flow projections, and oversee risk and insurance programs. On the Human Resources and Administration side, the Director will oversee HR functions including payroll, 401k administration, and state regulatory compliance. They will ensure that all necessary business policies are updated and implemented, streamline recruiting processes, and establish a comprehensive employee training program. The position requires a strong ability to communicate and present critical financial performance and issues to the Board of Directors, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and timely in accordance with company policies and GAAP.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and own all accounting operations including maintenance and reconciliation of all subledgers (A/R, Inventory, A/P).
  • Manage the company's accounting for inventory, including monitoring transactions and updating ledgers.
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition for tooling related operations.
  • Establish processes and financial policies to efficiently oversee finance operations.
  • Lead cost accounting automation initiatives and analyze data for business activity costs.
  • Drive improvements in the Standard Costing system and facilitate reviews with business leadership.
  • Complete and analyze financial statements/reports in a timely manner according to GAAP.
  • Prepare annual operating plans and capital budgets in collaboration with the Executive Team.
  • Monitor budget vs. actual performance monthly.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
  • Manage year-end close processes and external audit relationships.
  • Oversee banking relationships and cash flow projections.
  • Manage risk and insurance programs for the company.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Communicate financial performance information to all levels of management.
  • Provide training, leadership, and mentorship to accounting staff.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and maintain financial presentations for the Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree with a CPA license.
  • At least seven to ten years of overall professional experience, including four-plus years of management experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data and reporting.
  • Ability to translate financial concepts into actionable plans for non-finance colleagues.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Fluent understanding of accounting and business software, including ERP platforms.
