About the position

The Director of Finance & Controlling is a pivotal role responsible for leading the finance functions of the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making for both the site and the group. This position will oversee the controlling and accounting team, manage the month-end close process, and lead the annual budget process. The Director will play a crucial role in driving improvements in financial performance and accountability across various financial aspects of the business. In this role, the Director will lead all aspects of productivity analysis, costing, inventory management, capital expenditures (CAPEX), investment controlling, and cash management within a profit and loss (P&L) accountable business. The Director will be responsible for the annual operating plan and strategic multi-year planning, collaborating closely with site leadership and global teams to conduct strategic financial analysis. This includes identifying opportunities for optimizing business processes and reporting to enhance financial performance. The Director will also be tasked with ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, coordinating with auditors during the annual audit process, and addressing any findings or recommendations. Building strong relationships with cross-functional global teams, including finance, operations, and senior management, will be essential for providing financial insights and supporting critical initiatives. The role requires a highly analytical individual with a strong business sense and the ability to handle large sets of data, ensuring the quality and integrity of financial results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of financial reporting and analysis, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial documents including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, internal policies, and accounting principles while performing in-depth financial analysis of operations, including cost, trend, and profitability analysis.
  • Build and maintain effective internal cost calculations to ensure data accuracy and price calculation, identifying control gaps and implementing improvements to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements, coordinating with auditors during the annual audit process and addressing any audit findings or recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional global teams to provide financial insights and support critical initiatives, building strong relationships with internal and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • A relevant certification (i.e., CPA) is preferred.
  • 10+ years of proven experience as a finance manager or in a similar leadership role.
  • 5+ years of direct management experience leading or directing teams.
  • Significant experience within Operations Finance, FP&A, or Controlling.
  • Ability to handle large sets of data and create accurate reports, ensuring the quality and integrity of results.
  • Highly analytical with strong business sense and a continuous improvement approach.
  • Financial competence, including familiarity with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, as well as root cause data interpretation.
  • Excellent skills with MS Excel; experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Effective spoken and written communication skills to collaborate with various partners and global teams.
  • Strong team-building skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people, even if geographically dispersed.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of flexibility and a strong work ethic.
