About the position

This position is responsible for directing cash operations, accounts receivable, and accounts payable at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana. The role involves coordinating departmental activities, providing leadership on financial operations, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. The incumbent will manage a team and work closely with various stakeholders to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Direct cash operations, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Coordinate departmental activities with General Accounting.
• Assist internal and external auditors during audits.
• Lead prioritization of goals and objectives for financial operations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Oversee cash operations for accurate daily cash reporting.
• Manage the Accounts Receivable functional area to ensure proper processing of premiums and receipts.
• Direct vendor payment processes to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Administer claims reimbursements for self-fund clients and review outstanding receivables.
• Prepare and present yearly budget for Finance Operations departments supervised.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 7 years of financial operations experience required.
• 5 years of progressive leadership experience required.
• 3 years of people management experience required.
• Working knowledge of core administrative platform (FACETS preferred).
• Working knowledge of leading financial software package (PeopleSoft preferred).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
