About the position

The Finance Director at Mainstream Nonprofit Solutions plays a crucial role in leading the Finance Department to ensure accurate and timely financial operations. This position is dedicated to supporting the organization's mission of helping children and families in the community. The Finance Director will supervise staff, manage financial activities, and ensure compliance with regulations while contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Finance Department staff.
  • Direct day-to-day financial activities to ensure they are complete, accurate, and timely.
  • Manage accounts receivable, payable, and payroll functions.
  • Develop and maintain Finance Department priorities and plans.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis of Agency departments.
  • Prepare financial management reports for review and action.
  • Provide guidance, support, and coaching to finance staff for their development.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing business operations.
  • Travel to attend meetings, training, or conduct business off-site.

Requirements

  • Supervisory experience is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in general accounting.
  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • CPA license preferred.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication.
